Welcome to the Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra
Nov. 23, 2009
Joining the Orchestra
Kensington Philharmonic is always keen to welcome new members whether this is as a musician or a friend. We're also keen to welcome sponsors on an ongoing basis or for a single concert or season of concerts.
Musicians
The Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra was founded in April 1965 by the late Roger Gabriel, together with the orchestra's first leader, the late Marjorie Robinson.
Kensington Philharmonic aims to provide an opportunity for players who are at or approaching the necessary level of competance to study and perform works from the classical and modern repertoire, including those not so frequently heard in the concert hall.
KPO welcomes musical, conscientious, committed players - prepared to work at what they are doing. We are particularly keen to hear from viola, double bass and brass players. If you're interested in joining the orchestra please click here.
Friends and Patrons
There is a discount scheme for 'friends' of the KPO. Friends receive three tickets, normally valued at £36 for £30. Patrons of the orchestra can donate any amount annually as Gift Aid, but do not receive tickets. The orchestra also run a tax efficient Patrons scheme. If you require further information on either of these schemes please contact the Secretary, Ben Rayment by clicking here. A list of patrons can be downloaded here.
