The Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra welcomes new Sponsors who would like to be associated with this prestigious and well-known orchestra whose concerts are well attended. Also if they wish to remain anonymous. We also welcome 'Friends', who subscribe to tickets for the next 3 concerts at a discount price and receive notification of the concerts. We also welcome - where we have vacancies - new players who have reached a certain standard of proficiency.
The Kensington Philharmonic Orchestra, founded in 1965, is one of London's leading amateur orchestras. The orchestra gives three concerts a year in the Royal Borough, usually in the splendid surroundings of Chelsea Old Town Hall (right on the High Street). The concerts are well known for their friendly ambience and sense of occasion. The KPO provides a platform for well-established soloists, as well as for exciting younger players seeking an early opportunity to display their musical talents. We have been fortunate indeed to secure the services of Mark Fitz-Gerald, the orchestra's present Musical Director, who took over in 2002. He is well known throughout the musical world, conducting professional orchestras and opera companies throughout Europe on a regular basis, but retaining a great gift for inspiring and developing amateur ensembles. |
